I'd planned everything around one sunset on a clifftop in Santorini. That afternoon, the winds picked up so badly I was sure it was over.
Behind the scenes, the team rebuilt everything in a matter of hours. When I led her in, there was no sign of the storm, just an abundance of flowers, a mirrored aisle, crystal chandeliers above the caldera, and a pianist playing Beautiful Things by Benson Boone on a white grand piano as sparks rose around us and fireworks lit the sky.
She said yes before I'd finished the question. She still doesn't know there was ever a Plan B.
